Welcome to Labour Left Forum

This new forum for people on the Labour Left has the potential to be an invaluable addtion to the blogosphere! We have good comrade Mikael to thank for setting it up and designing it. It will undoubtedly be 'finding its feet' for a few days, but I'm hoping it will develop into an essential stopping place for lefties on the net! The idea is that it will be a collaborative effort with a variety of writers from the Labour Left offering their thoughts on various issues, raising awareness of campaigns and co-ordinating activities. It also offers every opportunity for comments/discussion/debate.

Also see the Labour Left forum Facebook group if you use Facebook (and if you don't, it's quite easy to join and a good way to make and keep contacts on the left).

Enjoy!

My very first blog. Hope I don't make a complete hash of it. How very disappointing when John had to withdraw. Brown's antics show to me what we now have to face. My fifty odd years in the movement tell me that things will now get worse. Brown and his cohorts, old and new, have always wanted the left out but knew they had no chance, hence his ruthlessness in this contest. Just a thought, candidates for local elections need ten nominations from constituents. Why stop at ten? Just carry on and get the rest then you are sure to win. Ridiculous I know but did Brown not do something similar.

Dear Labour left,

Can we change the colour scheme, as I can't read red on black easily (when the suns out).

'Tis a bit gloomy as well.

Dear All,

Thank you for being the first to comment on our new blog! We were hoping that this was going to be a collective effort, so please, leave your e-mail addresses along this post or the next one, in order for you to be able to post on it and start themes of your own!

Comradely,

Mikael

That was quick :-) Thanks boys(?)

I've just taken a look at Invision Board Community forums - where they can host the forum and the basic one costs USD 10 per month. Which is about 60 quid a year?

That way contributors can open up their new topics - which can't be done on blogs which leads to threads of comments going all over the place. What do think?

I don't know wether there is as much control over design as there is on blogger.

Mikael, I've temporarily opened up my email account on my blogger profile - let me know when you've got it and I'll close it up again. Don't want to publish it on here as I will be spammed to hell :-)

Curlew,

If I just did what I think I just did, you should have received/be about to receive an "invite" right now!

You may remove your address.

Thank for you help,

Mikael

P.S. Yes, so far "boys" would be the correct way of addressing the members of this forum - "Comrades" will do as well ! :-)

Anyone know much about blogger?

Thing is, I registered this name a while back, but there is a good comrade on the blogosphere with a very similar name so I want to change.

I've tried registering a new name, logging out, etc, but no matter what I do, everything keeps coming up as e10 rifles. How can I delete this bloody account??

Mikael said...

I don't think "google accounts" are deletable, e10, but you can create a new and let your present one lapse, I guess.

Would you add your e-mail address in order for me to invite to the forum?

Comradely,

Mikael

e10,
You can change your "display name" (and first name and last name too if you want) in your profile on Blogger. Your blog address will still be as you first created it but your id will appear as you want it in any postings.

Just select "Edit profile"

Jeff Jackson,

Should I remove your "e10" from the list or would you like to keep it?

Comradely,

Mikael

Ditch it!

Hopefully my comrade e10 rifle, with whom I wanted to avoid confusion, will sign up for this site. So please get rid.

Cheers
